It’s in the Air!

Something stirred in my soul today,
an excitement deep within.
The “Little Kid” in me wants to express herself.
“It’s holiday time again!”

There is something so special in the air,
It reaches down deep within our soul.
To glorify Christ in all that we do
should be our ultimate goal.

Look up. Around, and deep within.
His presence is truly made known.
How comforting it is for us to know
God is always “on His throne”.

Our mission on earth is to glorify Christ.
Our actions speak volumes. that’s true-
Think carefully before you speak.
Let others see Christ in you.

The Things You Should Always Remember

The events in our life are meant to be.
God has a plan for our life.
Putting faith in that plan
will ward away the strife.

May you always remember God is in control.
Trust Him as He leads you each day.
We are weak. He is strong.
His way is truly the best way.

There is a peace that can be found,
knowing His plan is playing out in our life.
Putting our faith in that plan
will ward away the strife.

God truly wants the best for us.
Walking in His footsteps is His plan for man.
To be more like our Savior
is God’s ultimate plan.

Lord, thank you for friends.
They warm our heart and lift our spirit every day
Our thoughts are lifted to you, Lord
You are The Truth, The Light, The Way

The joy of creating, of touching another soul.
That is the reward of reaching out.
Lord, in You we are all made whole.

Knowing God has a plan for our life
is important, don’t you see-
Faith in God’s plan allows us to trust
that the events in our life are meant to be.

The joy of creativity,
of touching another’s soul
That is the reward of “reaching out”
The reward will make you whole.

Somewhere there is a place for me.
A place I have a need to be.
A new plateau, a goal to meet.
Purpose, direction, without defeat.

Oh, God, give me strength to greet each day
with a cheerful countenance. Don’t let me sway.
Please let me focus on the issues of life
that bring joy to others to relieve their strife.

To have victory over the enemy called Fear-
the energy and stamina to persevere.

What Matters to You

Compassion and love are what matters
Reach out to a needy soul.
There is such a hunger for recognition
Make communication your goal.

People need people.
Listen with your heart to this plea.
“I don’t want to walk alone.”
There is such comfort in company.

Every day is a blessing
that comes from our Lord above.
Walk with a grateful spirit.
Do all things in the spirit of love.

I recognize that bad things happen,
Most of which we cannot comprehend.
But then, we are not made to understand it.
Try to be an optimist to the end.

When you accept the things you cannot change
You will dwell on things worthwhile.
Put on a happy face –
You are never fully dressed until you smile.

Food for Thought:
“When God pushes you to the edge, trust Him fully,
because only two things can happen.
Either He will catch you when you fall
or He will teach you how to fly.” Unknown

Comparisons- Helpful or Damaging?

When we compare, we want to be the best.
The paradox of “fit in and stand out.”
Comparison is the thief of happiness.
Acceptance of our self and others is what
Life is all about.

Be kind to yourself.
Accept yourself for who and what you are.
It will relieve that inner strife.
In God’s eyes, you are already a star.

Take time for creativity.
It’s important to your well being. don’t you see
Is achieving and competing truly deserving of
all your attention and energy?

Have you made achieving too important
and creativity as no longer of value?
Re-think your priorities, be kind to yourself
You will be a much more contented you.

“Why do we struggle to be something we
are not when God created us to be a
unique flower in His garden?”

What a Bargain!

Louise Gibson

God has not promised skies always blue,
But on His faithfulness you can depend.
He said He will never leave or forsake you.
His mercy has no end.

When your load is heavy
and you are feeling blue-
Look to Jesus, my friend.
There is help for you.

Jesus is waiting with a father’s love
His help and strength to give.
You have only to call on Him-
You will truly start to live!

Jesus said, “My peace I give to you”.
That is a perfect peace.
What a bargain. We give Him our burden.
He blesses as we release.

Window Wonders

My kitchen window overlooks my patio.
It affords me an excellent view.
I observe the antics of my animal friends
while cooking, perhaps a stew.

My window wonders this week
have become a bit disturbing.
What used to be a heartwarming scene
has become very disconcerting.

I have a most unusual guest
who really is quite rude.
He appears uninvited at meal time
and devours all the food.

Lord, I need your help-
I really don’t want to be mean.
But that cute raccoon is gaining weight,
while my cats are looking lean.

I said he is cute because
his habits are disarming-
He picks up his food with his “hands”-
I must confess he is charming!

I take out fresh water for my cats,
but our visitor is quite pristine!
You see, he “washes” his food in it-
He is the original “Mr. Clean”.

And Lord, you see the other problem, too, I know-
How he trashes up my patio?
I get so tired of using my broom,
I moved the garbage can to the utility room.

Lord, I have a question, please-
“Was this your plan from the start,
to put me “under pressure”
to tenderize my heart?”
