Paul Revere’s Helper

The Storyteller Almanac

The latest greatest episode in my ongoing podcast series, The Storyteller Almanac is now live and available online. The title of this one is, “Paul Revere’s Helper.” It’s a true story about the famous ride of Paul Revere. But it talks about a helper Paul had that night back in Colonial Days you might not have ever been taught in your school days. Presented in the Paul Harvey, “Rest Of The Story Format,” ya’ gotta stick with me until the end of this short story to fully get the impact and surprise ending.

Independence Day 2021. The story is about a song I wrote and recorded back in 1991 – “Freedoms Wings” – for an album I did back then called, “Heritage.” Rather than explain it here, just tune in and listen to hear the whole story behind it all. There are some poignant ‘Americana’ audio clips inserted within the tune. The narration at the beginning of the piece is also something I wrote for the “Heritage” CD back in the day. That narration was done by an old friend – Donald MacCallum. Thank you Donald!

Today, June 15th, 2021 is National Nature Photography Day!

Being a photographer that has always loved the great outdoors, wildlife and nature, this day was made for me!!!. I’ve captured thousands of nature pictures over the years. Having recently done a big push on my Etsy Shop, I though to myself, “ How can I not post a few of my original nature photo up there?” Sooooooo……. Check these latest two out if you would by clicking HERE

I’m on a roll with adding more good stuff to my Etsy shop :). I added a shot I managed to capture a little while back on a summer afternoon in small town Florida. The photo is offered both as a digital download and a physical matted print of ‘Old Glory’ – our American Flag in honor of Flag Day, June 14th, 2021. I also figured where Independence Day / July 4th was right around the corner, this would be a good add. Please check it out in my Etsy Shop where you’ll find an additional picture in greater detail 😉

Hope- A Full Blown Emotional Story

25 May

The Storyteller Almanac

Reblogged 05/25/21

The latest greatest podcast episode in my ongoing podcast, “The Storyteller Almanac” is live now. This episode quite different than anything I’ve put out there so far. Let me explain.

Several years back, I had this idea of creating sort of a ‘stories online’ type thing. These were all original pieces I’d conceived of and written. They were basically fiction but partially based on some of my real life experiences, interactions and people I’ve known during my lifetime. Each story is / was about 25 minutes long. The stories contained music mixed in, sometimes sound effects etc… They distantly resemble an old time radio program. Or perhaps to use a more specific analogy, they might remind you of a portion in my favorite radio program of all times, “A Prairie Home Companion” and the segment of that radio show that (original host and creator) Garrison Keillor used to call, “The News From Lake Wobegon.” If you’re not familiar with those references, not to worry. My podcast stories will make sense to you when you tune in and listen.

Hope” is one of those stories that has a twist ending. But I’m not gonna explain. You’ll just have to go listen and hear for yourself . If you like emotional, feel good stories then this is for you. I’d love to hear from you and what your thoughts and feelings are on this type of podcast / episode.

As always, you can find the podcast at www.StorytellerAlmanac.Com or on any of the major podcast platforms like Spotify, Apple. podcasts, Google Podcasts etc… And if you feel so inclined, ple ase follow / subscribe e to the podcast via one of those podcast platforms. Stoneface

4 May

The Storyteller Almanac

Greetings Everyone!

The latest episode in my podcast series The Storyteller Almanac is live now.

This one is called, “Stoneface – The Old Man Of The Mountains.” The State Seal of New Hampshire has been the profile view of The Old Man Of The Mountains since 1945. As you can see in the picture herein, The Old Man Of The Mountains is a natural rock formation on the side of The White Mountains up in Franconia Notch, NH which resembles a profile view of an old man. ‘Stoneface’ was discovered back in the 1800’s. Sadly, he crumbled and fell in May 2003 after being there for about 25,000 years according to geologists and historians.

The Storyteller Almanac

Our podcaster, Mike Thomas has had a busy week. He just released a new music album. Here is his post about it.

AVAILABLE TUESDAY, APRIL 20th, 2021

This is my most recent project. Released April 15th, 2021, it’s all music / no words. Mainly solo piano with strings. The title reflects a newer musical path I’ve been on for a little while now. If you enjoy listening to the likes of George Winston, Floyd Cramer, Yanni, Jim Brickman, David Lantz or similar, then. I’m pretty sure you’ll like this album.

Track listing is below. You can listen HERE to sample snippets of all 10 songs. You’ll also find links to where the music resides in digital format to download. To listen to a select few music samples plus the back story on this new project in the promotional video that follows:
