Trusting the World With Your Dreams

I simply want to communicate.
I am not writing in rhyme.
I know you are accustomed to that,
as I do it all the time. : – )

Trusting the World With Your Dreams

Everyone wants to cross the finish line triumphantly,
But you don’t have to prove yourself in order to be loved.
Be open to be vulnerable, conquered by love.
Let us love one another-
Keep your eyes on our God above.

God is something like an electrical outlet.
There is much power to be had, but only if we are connected.
The connection is faith. Faith releases the power of God.

The importance of knowing that love is a gift from God is this.
We will more surely receive this gift when we know that its
source is God and not simply a matter of using our own powers.
Most of us first have to try our own little formulas for relationships
of love. Eventually we come to a moment called ego-desperation.
It is a moment of admitting “I cannot do it by myself”. I must turn my
life over to the enlightenment and empowerment of God as I
understand Him. I must ask God to make me a channel of His
love, to fill my wells so that I can give the thirsty a drink from my supply.
We are only God’s instruments. Our love is the channel through which
God’s healing and helping grace will flow.

* Most of us do not have great talent, but we can do small things
with great love.

What the World Needs Now is Love Sweet Love

Have you ever asked yourself
“Who do I love, and why?”
Wouldn’t you amaze yourself
if you sincerely tried to reply?

“Do I truly love my neighbor
as well as I love myself?
Should I continue my endeavor
to “touch someone”-
or “put it on the shelf”?
“Just continue, dear Lord, to prod me
if I hesitate too long…
Put my priorities in order, please,
Remind me of this song.”

Composer:  Burt Bacharach

“What the world needs now is love. sweet love,

It’s the only thing there’s too little of.

What the world needs now is love, sweet love,

No, not just for some,

But for everyone.

Lord, we don’t need another meadow;

There are corn fields and wheat fields enough to grow.

There are sunbeams and moonbeams enough to shine-

Oh, listen if you want to know.

What the world needs now is love, sweet love.

It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of.

What the world needs now is love, sweet love-

No, not just for some, but for everyone.”

You Matter

What keeps your heart beating-
What keeps your lungs filled with air?
Appreciate every breath you take.
Let God know how much you care.

Every day is a gift from above.
Every day is an opportunity to share.
Reach out to help someone in need.
The needs are everywhere.

Happiness is an inside job.
It stems from a grateful heart.
Lord, you keep on blessing and blessing.
You are our life, not something set apart.

My friend, you matter far more than you know.
Your smile, your attitude, a kind word,
can set another’s heart aglow.

Lord, if any little word of mine
can help another soul,
help me find that little word
to reach its needed goal.

Happiness is an inside job.It stems from-3

It’s the Voice You Don’t Want to Hear

The spiritual world is like a classroom.
Love?, or Fear?
Which voice are you going to listen to?
Which voice do you want to hear?

Our spirit is the part of us
that is drawn to hope-It will not give in to despair.
It is the life of us.
God’s promise is always there.

What is the difference between others betraying us
and us betraying ourself?
When your own choices harm you-
you are betraying yourself.

That is why we hold the Lord’s prayer
deep in our heart.
Begin your day with our Savior.
He promises never to leave or forsake us.
From your heart He will never depart.

Hurry…and Wait!

Why do we discipline ourselves to always be on time for appointments
when we know in our heart we will have to wait?

To me it is a matter of courtesy.
When we die, I know God will meet us at the Pearly Gate.
He is a God of perfection.
I don’t expect him to make us wait.

Jesus bids us “Come unto me all ye who are weary and heavy laden
and I will give you rest.”
Such welcome words to a tired soul. It’s true.
I’ve already put him to the test.

Do you have a problem?
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Free yourself of worry.
You’ll find true peace and comfort there.

Are you in love? Let me count the ways.

” Agape” is self-sacrificing-
You lay down your life for your brother.
“Romantic” is emotional.
Your heart is filled with affection for another.

When you love you don’t try to keep score.
You give of yourself freely-
especially to those you adore.

A good way to have arguments
is to fight fair.
” Help me to see what I am not seeing”
It will quickly clear the air.

Love is inspiring-
It brings out the best in you.
Devotion and sacrifice will follow.
“To thine own self be true”.

Love is the most powerful emotion in the world.
Love is the most powerful emotion in life.
If all of God’s creation would lay down their arms
It would put an end to world strife.

I Corinthians 13:4-13 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away, For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I am known. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

People Need People

Life does present challenges that tax us to no end.
When bad things happen, and they often do,
that is when we need a friend.

Do you remember when someone encouraged you-
Perhaps when you were feeling low?
It helps to share your burden.
There is strength in numbers, you know.

Relate to people.
Call, text, or write a letter.
Just knowing someone cares
will make them feel much better.

Caring needn’t be costly-
Amazing what a smile can do.
It’s the best face lift in town,
and warms the heart of another, too.

Gorgeous Inside

It’s actually a rather nondescript house,
plain, and is easy to ignore.
It sits on a busy thoroughfare
that I pass when on my way to the store.

But as I drove past the other day
I noticed a “For Sale” sign in the yard.
Attached to the sign was a smaller notice
that happily announced: “I’m gorgeous inside”.

Now I have to confess that intrigued me.
What could make this otherwise forgettable
house gorgeous inside?
It also made me wonder,
could that sign be applied to us
as followers of Jesus? The One in whom
we safely abide?

What does the Bible say about inner beauty?
Romans 7:22 says, “In my inner being I delight
in God’s laws.
In Romans 8:6 Paul speaks of
a Spirit controlled
mind that is characterized by “life and peace”.

And in Galations, we see that letting the spirit
take charge of our inner being will build in us
the fruit of the spirit, a beautiful array of qualities
such as love, joy, peace, patience and kindness.
“Delighting in scripture and allowing the Spirit
to work in our heart will make us look good on the inside-
and will pay off in a life that honors God.”
Dave Brown

Righteousness in your heart produces beauty
in your character.

What’s the difference?

There is little difference in people,
but that little difference makes a
big difference.
That little difference is attitude,
The big difference is whether it is
positive or negative.

Robert Collier

Change your perception of what
age looks like.
How you are going to age is up to you.
It is not based on a calendar page.
It all depends on your point of view.

Don’t let your age put you in a box.
There is a part of you that is eternal.
Give free reign to your imagination.
It may even help to keep a journal.

Humility is not thinking less of yourself.
It is simply thinking of yourself less.
It will contribute to your peace of mind,
which ultimately brings you happiness.

What does age look like

Getting old is inevitable-
but aging is optional.
How you are going to age is up to you.

As we get older
it increases our confidence.
There is a part of us that is eternal.
Try to keep a healthy point of view.

Don’t let your age put you in a box.
Exercise your gray matter.
A good sense of humor will see you through.

A friend of mine shared this with me.
I would like to pass it on to you.

“Older people do not decline mentally with age.
It just takes them longer to recall facts
because they have more information in
their brain, scientists believe.
Much like a computer struggles as the hard
drive gets full, so do humans take longer
to access information. it has been suggested.
Researchers say this slowing down is not the same
as cognitive decline. “The human brain works more
slowly in old age”, said Dr. Michael Ramscar, “but
only because we have stored more information
over time. “The brains of older people do not get weak.
On the contrary, they simply know more.”

(I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!)

Brains of elderly slow because they know so much
