From the Heart
Louise Gibson

How OLD Would You Be
If You Didn’t Know How Old You Are?
I’d be old enough to know
that I should feed my spirit-
So my heart never wrinkles,
nourished by the thoughts within it.
No longer reminded of a chronological age,
I would not be bound by a calendar page.
I would let the young woman within have free reign.
Who knows what positive things I would gain.
Oh, I had better hurry.
I don’t want to be late,
You see, I have a very important date.
P.S.
Nothing strenuous, most things are “nix”.
My back reminds me I am 86!

Ignore your back. Your soul is 21. Have a blessed day.

What a sweert thing to say, Barbara. Thank you. Every day is a gift from above to be spent with thanksgiving and a spirit of love.

You’re right, Louise. Why should we limit ourselves to the date on our birth certificates. What if we were going to live another twenty-five year? Might as well be as happy as possible while doing it. Good poem.
