When Your Modem Has Issues

We recently received a new modem from our internet provider. Unfortunately, it has control issues and wants to assign the IP address of its choosing, not what the Internet provider demands. Tech support said they will be happy to send out a technician IN A WEEK to replace  the new modem with another new modem.  I hope this one has a better attitude.
